Missions from the Heart

Sometimes helping someone come to know Christ has to start with an act of care. Gloria de Cristo Lutheran Church members love to care. You can log onto www.ELCA.org to learn more about our work on the global level, but there are many ways you can help with local missions as well. We support smaller churches who are growing in under-served areas, we use our resources to contribute to individual needs, and our Glorious Quilters sew quilts for those in need.

Our Missions and Social Concerns Committee extends a hand on several local fronts.  One such mission is giving Christmas gifts to local kids whose parents are incarcerated through the Prison Ministry Angel Tree Network.  The Missions and Social Concerns Committee also facilitates ELCA God’s Work Our Hands projects which allow us to give back locally. One such project is a gift of coffee and fresh donuts to first responders every September to say thank you for their service. The Missions and Social Concerns Committee also helps to bring school supplies to the children of Tomo Mi Mano, a separate mission which supports a pre-school facility in nearby Los Algodones, Mexico.

Our holiday giving extends to the Philippines where goats, pigs and chickens are provided to those families who are  beginning farmers with our ELCA Good Gifts program.

Gloria de Cristo believes that giving with our talents and our time is essential to our Christian walk and invites you to join us by participating in service-related activities. Call the office for information on donating or volunteering. Gloria de Cristo office (928) 342-6002
